A REVUE FLEX LOVE STORY - Katherine & Stephen
As we enjoy the perks of the best cameras in today's market when documenting love stories, we also have an old 35mm film camera. It is called Revue Flex, and we decided to bring it for this wedding. This camera has an important place in my heart. It is the same camera that got me into photography. When I was nine, we went to Greece to spend holidays with my older brother, whom I hadn't seen in more than 7 years. It was there when Pepi (my brother) introduced me to this camera. Besides our point-and-shoot Nikon that belonged to my dad, my brother had brought the Revue Flex, an SLR Manual film camera. I remember vividly sitting on the balcony of our apartment in Greece when Pepi would explain how the camera worked.
Last year we took this camera to be part of our story when Dona and I married. In our bedroom, we cherish two photos we took of each other using this camera. Now 27 years later, as we love this camera, we thought it would be a great idea if we would create some tangible memories for our couples. For Katherine & Stephen, we used 3 Black and White films. Using this manual camera makes today’s camera feel so easy. With manually setting from shutter speed to focal depth and focus, it all pales in comparison when you think about the anticipation while waiting for the rolls to develop. Here is what we captured.
